Mrs. Ladymar

Founder & Director, Mis Tortuguitas Spanish Immersion Daycare

Mrs. Ladymar is the heart behind Mis Tortuguitas. As a dedicated mother and early childhood professional, she brings both firsthand parenting experience and a deep passion for nurturing young learners in a bilingual environment.

With several years of experience working in childcare and running day-to-day operations of daycare centers, Mrs. Ladymar understands the needs of both children and families. Her journey into opening Mis Tortuguitas began with the belief that she could create something better—a space where language, love, and learning come together in a meaningful way.

Originally from a Spanish-speaking background, she blends cultural authenticity with proven early learning practices. As the on-site director, she is actively involved in every aspect of the center—from classroom structure to teacher support and family communication.

Her vision is simple but powerful: to offer a safe, joyful, and immersive environment where children thrive and families feel supported.

Our Story

About Us

Mis Tortuguitas is more than just a daycare—it’s a vibrant, nurturing community where children thrive through the power of language, culture, and connection. As the first full Spanish immersion daycare in Farmington, Minnesota, we are proud to offer a unique early learning environment where children from 6 weeks to 6 years old are immersed daily in Spanish language and Latin American culture through play-based curriculum, loving care, and structured routines.

Founded by Mrs. Ladymar, a dedicated mother and experienced early childhood professional originally from Venezuela, Mis Tortuguitas was created from a deep-rooted belief that children deserve more than a place to be supervised—they deserve a place to be celebrated, inspired, and prepared for the world ahead. With over a decade of hands-on experience in childcare and early education, including managing day-to-day operations of childcare centers, Mrs. Ladymar understands the essential needs of both children and working families.

At Mis Tortuguitas, every aspect of the center—from the classrooms to the curriculum—is thoughtfully designed by Mrs. Ladymar, who serves as the on-site Director. Her goal is to blend proven early learning practices with the warmth and authenticity of her Spanish-speaking heritage. She is deeply involved in daily operations, ensuring that each child is seen, heard, and supported. Whether greeting parents each morning, guiding teachers, or tailoring learning experiences for different age groups, her presence ensures a personal, hands-on approach that reflects the heart of the center’s mission.

Our name, which translates to “My Little Turtles,” reflects the gentle pace and thoughtful care with which we approach early childhood development. We believe children grow best when they feel safe, supported, and surrounded by meaningful relationships. Our Spanish immersion model helps develop cognitive skills, encourages empathy and global awareness, and gives children a valuable head start in language acquisition during their most formative years.

Mis Tortuguitas is committed to creating a safe, joyful, and culturally rich space where every child can flourish—and every family feels like part of something special. We invite you to visit, learn more, and become part of our growing community.

Programs Overview

The Programs We Offer

At Mis Tortuguitas, we offer a full Spanish immersion experience across three age-specific programs. Our Infant Program (6 weeks–16 months) focuses on nurturing care and early development in a calm, language-rich environment. The Toddler Program (16–33 months) encourages independence, social growth, and exploration through play and routine. In the Preschool Program (33 months–5 years), children engage in structured learning that builds school readiness, all while developing fluency and confidence in Spanish.

Infant Program
(6 weeks – 16 months)

Our nurturing infant program provides a safe, loving, and language-rich environment where babies are encouraged to explore, bond, and grow. With individualized care plans and Spanish immersion, we support each baby’s unique developmental milestones from the very beginning.

Toddler Program
(16 months – 33 months)

Our energetic toddler classroom is designed to foster independence, social-emotional development, and early communication—all through play-based learning in a Spanish-speaking setting. Children are introduced to routines, sensory exploration, and early problem-solving.

Preschool Program
(33 months – 5 years)

Our preschoolers build the foundation for kindergarten through a structured, yet creative curriculum focused on early literacy, math, science, and cultural exploration. Fully immersed in Spanish, children develop cognitive and language skills while gaining confidence and curiosity about the world.
